Are application fee waivers provided?

Application fee wavers are not provided.

 

What is the cost of the program?

The MSDS applies a flat fee of $39,000 for in-state, out-of-state, and international students for the program.  This fee will typically be paid on a semester-by-semester basis, so that each semester a student will be charged $9,750, for 1-9 credits.  Other payment options will be available for self-supported residents of Michigan, and for students wishing to complete the program in more than 2 years.

Is the program STEM designated and eligible for OPT?

Is a 3 year degree accepted for entry into the program?

MSU accepts a 3-yr BS/BA degree in combination with an MS degree to fulfill the BS/BA requirement.

 

Do we offer spring admissions?

Spring starts are generally not offered but the applicant can reach out to Dr. Speaker to discuss.

 

Are Teaching Assistant/Graduate Assistantships available?

Graduate students can apply for a Teaching Assistant or Graduate Assistant position for the MSDS program. They are not guaranteed, and they are competitive.
